SouthLake Christian Academy is partnering with International Experience to give students from around the world the chance to experience a Christ-centered education here in our community.
Hosting an international student is a unique and rewarding experience that brings the world to your doorstep. As a host family, you’ll provide a safe, caring home for one of these students while sharing your own faith, culture, and daily life. As a host family, you play an essential role in helping a student adjust to life in a new country while sharing your own culture, traditions, and daily life.
Whether you’ve hosted before or are considering it for the first time, we welcome your interest in being part of our school’s global community.

Host Family FAQ's
Who can be a host family?
Anyone in our school community who is willing to provide a safe, welcoming home. Families of all shapes and sizes are welcome!
Most host families host for a semester or the full academic year. Short-term opportunities may also be available.

Are host families compensated?
Yes, families receive a monthly stipend to help cover the cost of hosting.
Do students speak English?
Yes, all our international students have demonstrated English proficiency, though it may take time for them to adjust to everyday conversation.
Will I have support from the school?
Absolutely. Our Host Family Coordinator is available to help every step of the way, from placement to ongoing support throughout the year.
