ACSI Spelling Bee
The Spelling Bee is an annual event for students in Grades 3-8. The Spelling Bee is held under the regulations of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The winner of the annual SLCA Spelling Bee, held in January, continues on to the Regional Independent School Spelling Bee. The winners have the chance to further compete in the National Spelling Bee.
Chapel band is open to qualified students who combine their musical gifts with a love for the Lord to lead students in praise and worship music during chapel.
Middle school students have the opportunity to engage each quarter with a program designed to acknowledge the ways our students display school core values of Joy, Integrity, Respect, and Kindness. Teachers will acknowledge when they observe a student contributing exceptionally to our community using signature and punch cards. Students who fill their card within each quarter, they will be recognized in several ways: The Weekly Newsletter, a hallway poster and with eligibility for a quarterly prize.
Middle school students take a variety of curriculum related field trips including but not limited to: The Catawba Science Center, The Billy Graham Library, Linville Caverns, and The Biltmore House.
Social & Spiritual Touchpoints
At the beginning of each school year middle school students retreat together for either a day trip (5th/6th grade) or an overnight adventure (7th/8th grade) for the sole purpose of fellowship and spiritual enrichment. This time includes outdoor activities, special speakers and worship.
