Coach Brian McCarthy. Since he joined Charlotte in 2015, Coach McCarthy quickly became an integral part of the local sports community, contributing to girls' basketball and middle school lacrosse. His passion for the game and dedication to his teams peaked in 2017 when he took on the role of Head Coach for both the boys' and girls' lacrosse teams. Under his leadership, the boys' lacrosse team achieved significant milestones, including their inaugural appearance in the state playoffs and a landmark playoff victory over Davidson Day.

The team secured back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019, and Coach McCarthy received the honor of NC Private School Coach of the Year. These achievements highlight the perseverance, commitment, and teamwork he has cultivated among his players. He brings a unique blend of leadership, cooperation, and community engagement, honed through years of mentoring young athletes.

Coach McCarthy resides with his wife Lisa and their three wonderful children—Braeden, Mia, and Paige—all proud alumni of SouthLake Christian—along with their four energetic dogs.
