Coach Farley has a significant impact on the SouthLake campus. When Farley became part of SouthLake, he took on the role of JV baseball coach while also working as a physical education teacher at the middle school level. His dedication, combined with his unique coaching techniques, saw him rise to the position of head coach for both the varsity football and baseball teams.
For over a decade, he has dedicated himself to mentoring and shaping the next generation of athletes, imparting not just the skills necessary for success in sports, but also the values of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline. As the assistant coach for the varsity baseball team, the team clinched conference titles in both 2017 and 2018. In 2022, Coach Farley, as the head coach, guided the team to clinch the conference title and finish as the runner-up in the state championship.
Farley's athletic journey began when he was drafted right out of high school by the St. Louis Cardinals. His talent further blossomed during his two-year stint at Brevard Junior College. His baseball expertise didn't stop there. Farley went on to represent NC A&T University and even played for Team USA against Japan in the prestigious Tokyo Dome. Coach Farley, a former Lincolnton High School baseball and football All-State performer was inducted into the LCSHOF in November 2021.
As we celebrate Coach Farley's achievements, let's also take a moment to learn from his journey. Remember, success is not just about winning; it's about the lessons learned, the friendships made, and the character built along the way.
