Christ-Centered Learning in a Digital World

SouthLake Christian embraces technology as a powerful tool to enrich learning and prepare students to lead and serve in an increasingly digital world. Rooted in a biblical worldview, our approach helps students grow in discernment, responsibility, and excellence as they use technology to explore ideas, collaborate with others, and solve real-world problems through a Christ-centered lens.

In the Lower School, technology is thoughtfully integrated to support hands-on, interactive learning, with tools such as interactive displays and Chromebooks enhancing instruction and engagement. In the Upper School, our 1:1 Chromebook program equips students with essential tools for research, communication, and productivity, preparing them for college, careers, and life as faithful stewards of God’s gifts in the 21st century.

Google Classroom

Google Accounts

Students in Upper School at SouthLake Christian are administered a Google account which will be their email address ending with @southlakechristian.net. Students will hold this account the entirety of their stay at SouthLake Christian.

Chromebooks

It is the utmost desire of SouthLake Christian to lead our 1:1 Chromebook program to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is to help teach and train children to be Christian leaders in an ever growing technology centered world by giving them a competitive 21st century global education. These policies and guidelines are designed for the protection of your children. We want to partner with you in teaching our students proper digital citizenship.

Content Filter

The school utilizes an Internet content filter that covers all Chromebooks, while on school property. All Chromebooks while on campus will have all Internet activity protected and monitored by the school.

Lower School

Lower School students utilize tablets and notebooks for practical education, learning exercises, and web-based discovery. Early digital exposure cultivates essential computer abilities, such as keyboarding, web browsing, and online safety knowledge.

Learning Environments: Smart boards in every classroom facilitate vibrant instruction, enhancing pupil involvement and visual comprehension.

Tech-Savvy Direction: Our media specialist delivers weekly technology lessons in classes, instructing students on effective and responsible use of digital resources.

Middle School

Technology (Washburn Tech) 7th-8th

Technology classes focus on teaching students essential digital skills and responsible online behavior. Using the Brittany Washburn Technology curriculum along with PCL Tech, students learn about internet safety, digital footprints, cyberbullying, and ethical use of technology. The course emphasizes critical thinking and responsible decision-making in the digital world.

Upper School

Every Upper School student receives a laptop for their entire high school journey and must bring a computer to campus daily for academic use.

Laptops are used throughout the curriculum for research projects, writing, working on complex math problems, design, media arts, modern language acquisition, and collaboration in a wide variety of ways.

Laptops should be brought to school daily in good working order and fully charged. If your child is having hardware or software difficulties he or she should stop by the technology office in the Sanctuary building for technology support.

Students are expected to check their school-provided email account regularly throughout the day for the most up-to-date information.
