Middle School

The candidate should be comfortable communicating with middle school students, their parents, and their teachers. A well-qualified candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work calmly and maintain a positive attitude in a high-energy environment that is frequently interrupt-driven. Primary job duties include:
1. Providing first-contact support in the middle school hallway to address student needs regarding communicating with parents, administering medication, and distributing materials.
2. Modeling effective teacher/parent partnership through timely communication with parents in support of the student experience.
3. Providing support for middle school teachers by keeping materials and supplies available and functioning properly and directing student/teacher concerns to the appropriate member of administration.
4. Providing support for middle school administrators by coordinating meetings and programs, assisting in monitoring and tidying hallways during and between class periods, monitoring supply levels in bathrooms, and managing the middle school lost-and-found table.
5. Monitoring student attendance in each class period including managing late arrivals and early dismissals.
6. Maintaining the middle school testing calendar, field trip notifications, and other support processes as needed.
7. Working with other office support personnel, teachers, and administrators to support the mission of SouthLake Christian Academy.

We are currently hiring for two Afterschool Care Assistants.

Substitute Teachers
NILD Educational Therapist - Full Time
SouthLake Christian Academy in Huntersville, NC, is seeking applicants for a full-time NILD therapist to join our Academic Development Center for the 2023-2024 school year.
Bachelor’s degree in education, or related field.
- Understands learning processes and is passionate about unlocking learning potential for their students.
- Provides NILD Educational therapy services to assigned students.
- Develops individualized plans for weekly sessions based on student needs.
- Initiates and maintains communication with parents and classroom teachers.
- Monitors the ongoing implementation of classroom accommodations to meet the student’s learning needs.
- Monitors student grades and classroom output.
- Works towards acquiring or maintaining NILD PCET Certification.
- Takes advantage of professional development opportunities through NILD Webinars and Regional Conferences.
- Administers year-end testing and provides results at year-end meetings.
- Willing to work collaboratively with others in a positive team approach.
- Provides support to the Academic Development Director as needed.

Custodian - Part Time
SouthLake Christian Academy is currently seeking applicants for a part-time custodian. This position will be 20-25 hrs. per week and the individual must be able to work late afternoon/evening hours. Hours may be flexible but preference is after 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- Candidates must possess at least one year of janitorial experience and providereferences from past positions held.
- Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform dust mopping/vacuuming of 10 classrooms as well as the maintenance of hallways/offices and perform spot and detail mopping throughout the school..
- Trashing removal, cleaning of restrooms and cleaning doors and glass surfaces within the school.
