Giving Back to Our Community
SouthLake Christian Academy students have the opportunity and responsibility to make a positive difference within the local community by giving back. We believe that God has created us to live in community with each other. God calls on us to expand the boundaries of our understanding, our giving and our comfort zone to include the poor, the broken and lost. When Jesus commands his disciples to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and welcome the stranger (Matt. 25:35-36), it is for our sake as much as it is for those to whom we minister and share.
Giving back through community service is a positive way of sharing God's love and at the same time making the community a better place for everyone to live and work. Our students are actively involved in local community service projects at nursing homes, food pantries, homeless shelters, clothing closets, and inner city school children.
