College Guidance

SouthLake Christian Academy provides a comprehensive guidance program that helps prepare students and their families for college and life. Our Guidance Office offers the most current college resources and individual counseling for every SouthLake family.

The goals of our college guidance program are:

* To help direct students, according to their fullest potential, on their best path to college admissions

* To provide resources regarding college information, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities

* To help parents and students choose the best college options

* To offer guidance for our graduates as they prepare to enter their freshman year of college

SouthLake’s strong core curriculum and high academic standards help insure the ideal preparation for college for all our students. An encyclopedia of college admissions information is compiled each year and distributed to juniors and their parents at college night, held during the first semester. This resource notebook is the basis for discussions about what colleges are looking for, the college entry timeline, interviews, entrance exams, application essays, financial aid and more.

Our college guidance office also assists our students in developing a personalized college admissions plan that will best meet the individual needs of each student and their family.

The college admissions process can be an exciting and stressful time for students and parents.
