The goal at SouthLake Christian Academy is to create an environment that enhances learning. It is widely recognized that school uniforms increase attention and learning in the classroom and foster a more structured environment.
An additional consideration for a Christian school is modesty. What is considered modest can vary greatly from family to family. The apostle Paul cautioned the church in I Corinthians 8:9, “Take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.” We have selected uniforms that set a standard for modesty and create a suitable environment for all of our students and parents.
SouthLake Christian Academy believes that for these reasons, uniforms are an important part of a Christian learning environment. For the 2015-16 school year, we have partnered with Lands’ End Uniforms to create a line of uniforms that are comfortable, modest and conducive to education. Lands’ End has a long history of quality clothing and excellent customer service, which makes them a perfect partner with our families.
For specifics on our 2015-16 uniform policy, check out the links on the right. Uniform items may be purchased online at www.landsend.com. Fit instructions are included on the Lands’ End website. Families may also visit the pop-up Lands’ End store inside Sears at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville for assistance with fit and ordering.
Another important part of our Uniform Policy is the ability to give back to the Parent Teacher Fellowship of SouthLake. SouthLake Christian participates in the Scrip program, which allows families to purchase gift cards to various retailers while a portion is returned to the school. If you use Lands’ End Scrip to purchase your uniforms, 14% will be donated through Scrip to SouthLake PTF.
