Roll
Honor
Roll recognition is achieved by students in grades 5-12 who
meet the following criteria: "A" Honor Roll: All "A's",
no demerits; "A/B" Honor Roll: Overall "A" average, no
demerits, no "C" grades. In addition, students in grades 5-8
may not receive any "U’s" or "N’s" on their report cards.

Reading
Eagles
Students
in grades 1-6 compete for academic recognitions as part of this
optional, self-paced Accelerated Reader Program. Students read
selected books and complete a computerized comprehension test
to earn Reading Eagles points. Individual achievement is recognized
during lower school assemblies. Click here

Science
Fair
The
mad scientist in each student emerges during the annual Science
Fair held each spring. Middle and Upper School students create
individual presentations while younger grades conduct classroom
experiments to learn the scientific process.

MAP/TIP
Program
High
achieving students in grades 4 and 5, as determined by scores
on Stanford Achievement Tests, are invited to participate in
Duke University's Motivation for Academic Performance program. |
Math
Counts
This afterschool enrichment program culminates in a "Math
Counts" team from SouthLake competing against other teams
from schools throughout the Southeast. Membership on this team
is based on a competitive process. Students are recognized in
school assemblies and local print media. |
Math
Olympics
Children in grades 3-8 are selected to compete in the Association
of Christian Schools International Math Olympics competition
each spring. Six students in each grade compete in the areas
of computation and reasoning. |
Math
Superstars
The optional Math Superstars Program is offered to students
in grades 1-6. Weekly worksheets challenging students to supplement
class assignments are offered during regular school hours and
as homework. Individual achievement is recognized during lower
school assemblies. |
