Volunteering and PTF

All parents are encouraged to lend their time and God-given talents to the many volunteer opportunities that exist, from classroom parties to academic enrichment programs and school-wide festivals. Strong bonds that link families to SouthLake Christian begin with a welcoming and active Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) organization. Join the PTF in enriching the lives of our students every day!

There are numerous opportunities to volunteer and make a significant impact on your student and others. Some examples of the opportunities available follow:

Fall Festival Fundraiser: The annual Fall Festival offers families carnival games, a silent auction, bake sale, karaoke, crafts and typical midway treats and games during an afternoon of fun and fellowship on the SouthLake Christian campus. Funds from the event contribute to Lower School enhancements.

Book Fair: A Fall Book Fair features books, games and educational toys from Christian and educational booksellers. Profits from Book Fair sales contribute to library improvements.

Room Parents: Coordinate in-class activities, parties, support field trips programs and additional needs as directed by each teacher.

Lunch Volunteers: Distribute lunches on a weekly basis.

Booster Club: Staffs concession sales and admissions/front gate functions at sporting events; assists with sports awards banquets. Members receive a season pass to all regular season home games for soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, golf and baseball.

Prayer Partners: Ministers to the students and staff of SouthLake Christian by committing to weekly or more frequent prayer on behalf of school, teachers, students, administration and families.

Math Superstars: Implement and support the Math Superstars enrichment program in the lower school's individual classrooms.

Parent Teacher Fellowship Service Opportunities

PTF Officers

President: Presides over meetings of the PTF and executive committee, serves as member ex-officio of all PTF committees and provides communication link between PTF and SouthLake Christian School Board.

Vice President: Coordinates the work of all PTF standing and special committees and assists president in duties. Serves as volunteer coordinator, overseeing communication with Room Parents.

Secretary: Records and distributes minutes of all PTF general and executive meetings.

Treasurer: Develops and tracks the Association budget, including accurate record-keeping and reporting and presides over the PTF Finance Committee.

PTF Standing Committees

Hospitality: Provides refreshments for special events, coordinates Teacher Appreciation Week events and ministers to school staff and families as the need arises.

Reading Eagles: Implements and supports the Reading Eagles Accelerated Reader Program.

Finance: Develops PTF budget, sets fundraising goals and tracks PTF expenditures.
